Major Changes

I stayed up late last night to hear the outcome of the board meeting. Will the schedule change to 4 days a week. The day will begin at 8am and end at 4:35pm, that is a long day. Will we be able to endure? I predict in about a month it will seem like a normal schedule. I have taught for 27 years and have never worked 4 days a week. I am sure I will enjoy the extra day off and there will be some school days that seem to drag on and on. Many are worried that there child will not be able to concentrate and endure the long day. Change is always difficult, and never welcomed by some, but once we get into the new schedule I'm sure that it will be fine. Many changes have come and gone in my many years of teaching and I have learned to always except the change and find the good in it. If the teachers are positive it makes a big difference in a young life.
